The Carl V. Bini Memorial Fund is a registered 501(c)3 organization and was founded in honor of firefighter Carl V. Bini - a member of the FDNY tragically taken during the events of 9/11.  Our mission is to provide immediate aid for those in need within our community and beyond - and to memorialize the heroism of our fallen hero.

Since Hurricane Sandy struck New York City on October 29th, our organization has coordinated countless initiatives, all geared towards providing immediate aid to Staten Island families most severely affected by the storm.  The foundation has facilitated the delivery of over 18,000 meals donated from the cancelled New York City Marathon to those in need, collected and distributed donations of clothing/supplies islandwide, put over 700 volunteers to work both cleaning out homes and in our sorting facilities, and coordinated with other charitable organizations/evacuation centers to distribute supplies directly to those in need.  The Bini Fund is comprised of all volunteers, and 100 percent of funds raised go directly to families in need without the overhead and red tape that larger charitable organizations must work within.

We have executed successful fundraising events and initiatives across the country, in cities such as San Diego, Los Angeles, Sun Valley and New York - and will be rolling out a series of events over the next two years to continue to fuel the rebuilding of Staten Island.

The support we have received in the past two weeks has been incredible, to say the least.  In addition to the outpouring of volunteers and donations from people in our city and across the country, we have received public support from many celebrities - including singer John Mayer and television personality Jon Stewart.  This support has served to bring attention to the level of destruction in Staten Island, as well as the task we face in rebuilding.
